| What “tricks” do
you use to memorize things? Perhaps you use repitition, or association
with something familiar, or a spatial pattern. There are books
written on the subject of memory aids, but the bottom line is that
different “tricks” work for different people.
One “trick” that seems to work well with many folks
is to put the words to be memorized to music (how many old commercial
jingles can you still recite by heart?). AWANA has used this “trick” and
put all the verses for each of the T&T books to music. While
these short songs won’t win any Grammy awards, for some clubbers
they can be very helpful tool for learning their sections.
We have several copies of these CDs. Some are available (with personal
CD players) for use during the club evening. Others may be checked
out for 2 week time periods for use at home. And if you find that
the CD is helpful, you may purchase a copy for $10.00. Contact a
club director or secretary for more details on these options. |
