Mercy Ministries

2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ...
10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
—Galatians 6:2, 10 (ESV)

A note from Pastor Dean

Jesus said, “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35).

We are living in an era of time where the church is being dismissed as an institution that is either too rigid or out of touch or driven by numbers. Unfortunately, this critique is far too often deserved. The distinctive that Jesus said would distinguish us apart from others (love) is so desperately needed. That is one reason why we are initiating a comprehensive effort inviting you to participate in our KBC Mercy Ministries. This vehicle is being constructed to expand our span of care to one another using whatever gifts and talents and passions the Lord has blessed us with.

We are of the conviction that as our community comes to see our church as a place that truly fleshes out what it means to “love one another” that it will be incredibly attractive. As others are drawn to taste the KBC experience, our prayer will be that they find it to be a place that is authentic, real, and clearly displays love, one for another in tangible ways. Our hope is that they will come to see that we not only love in word or talk but (also) in deed and in truth (1 John 3:18).

Our primary motive, however, in developing KBC Mercy Ministries is to cause changed lives that bring God much glory. Please consider where you might desire to serve and return this form to the Main Office. Our Mercy Ministry team will do all they can to contact you, thank you and seek to use you “in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work” (Colossians 1:10).

Coram DEO (before the face of God),

Pastor Dean

This is a beginning list of the variety of ways that each of us can engage in acts of mercy within the KBC family. Some are existing ministries in need of additional gifted people, and others are brand new ministries at KBC. As the whole ministry grows, we may identify other needs we will be able to serve.

Please let us know which of these ministry opportunities strikes a chord with your heart and also let us know how to contact you. Call Pastor Jim at 262-652-4507 or email MercyMinistries@kenoshabible.org, or click for a printable Mercy Ministries sign-up form.Adobe Reader Required
